Refugee Council guide to claiming asylum for separated children.

Graphic Design - Illustrated Guide.

Overview

We were commissioned by the Refugee Council to create a easy-to-follow visual resource to assist newly arrived separated children and care leavers who have made a claim for asylum in the UK to understand the asylum process and their rights and responsibilities as looked-after children and care leavers in England.

Objective

To design a guide with lots of pictures and few words that allowed young people, whatever their language, to follow a very complex pathway to refugee status.

Solution

We designed a colour-coded and heavily illustrated A5 8-panel accordian leaflet and journey map. The guide can be folded out into a A2 wall poster for following through the long and arduous asylum process.

"This was a very important piece of work for us. The asylum system has never been more difficult to navigate, and this is especially so for unaccompanied children. Pinpoint took an idea and turned it into this fantastic and easy-to-follow resource. We couldn't be more pleased."
